Default Mesmer and Hero HM Vanquishing/Mission Build help

Hi there, I'm playing as a Mesmer and decided to go Vanquishing and HM missions across all places, problem is I'm unsure how to setup my Heroes correctly to run with my Mesmer and how my Mesmer can aid the team also.

If possible I'd like advise on 4-man area builds and 6-8 man area builds, for me and my heroes. Generally I'd take a Monk and a Warrior for 6-man and usually 2 monks, an Ele and a Dervish/Warrior for 8-man whilst running Sabway and a build 'Painful Promise' I was using along side them that I got from browsing the forums. The Builds work fine, though even when altering sabway for hex-heavy areas and healing heavy areas, I sometimes get over run especially in Tyria which is mostly part of my problem.

Any help on hero setup (I have all Heroes and all Skills) and a setup I could use as a Mesmer would be appreciated, thanks.

4man areas:

assuming you can play shut-down as effective as a BHA ranger? you can just use quivering blade plague touch warrior - very good support against casters

WoH hybrid monk -
SH nuker ele

that was my setup for 4man areas - if you want entire builds for ele,mo,war PM me IG
IGNs
<<<

done all areas like this as ranger - just go shut-down on your mes

I used this setup to easily vanquish the 4-man-areas:

1. Me (Signet of Midnight + Epidemic to shut down the Melees, Ebon Standard of Courage, Empathy, Pain Inverter, Necrosis and some other stuff and interrupts depending on the map)
2. Sabway Minion Bomber
3. Sabway N/Rt Healer
4. E/Me Nuker with Searing Flames, Meteor Shower (very helpful to get rid of the Grawl healers) and some Mesmer interrupts/skills for E-Management

Vanquished all of Ascalon with it (except for Diessa Lowlands, which I vanquished with 2 more Henchies, starting from Yak's).

Just make sure that whenever you are approaching a challenging group:
1. Flag the heroes about 1.5-2 "aggro circles" behind the monsters
2. Flag the Minion Bomber slightly ahead of the group
3. Run into the group, so you are initiating the fight in a range slightly outside of the groups circle, but still within range of your healer.
The N/Rt should usually have no problem to keep a single target alive, no matter what is hitting you.
Blind+Epidemic the Melees, while the Minions should start running in.
Once they are engaging the monsters, unflag all heroes (if they are not already attacking) and watch the monsters die.

Thanks to your SF Hero you can add some additional dps with Necrosis. In some areas (Hydras, Renegade Mages) you might wanna focus a bit more on interrupting for your own build.

And don't forget to put on your Ebon Vanguard title. Helps vs. the Charr.

Thanks for the input. I've got two areas left of which are 4-man areas, though I think I'll start from Yak's as it would be better.

I assume you use the same setups for the larger party areas also? I'll go give the various builds a try. Most areas I can do quite easily using the setup I was actually using, as I modified Sabway slightly to work with my own build. Its just the builds I was running when you start into an area with mobs straight away and no minions it was a slight pain.

For most vanquishing, Sabway has been the core of my teambuild, which I modified for specific areas.

For 4-man-areas see above.

For 6-man-areas with a lot of undead, I replaced the minion bomber with a N/Rt Restoration/Channeling hybrid (damage and healing, while using SR as inherent e-management, which is still worth the N primary even without minions).
Henchies: Fire Mage and Monk.
For some desert maps with a lot of Hydras, I brought a full-fledged interrupt Mesmer Hero (because their ability to shut down 5 Hydras simultaneously simply exceeds mine by far) and never had to worry about getting nuked again.

And for most of the 8-ppl-maps I just used normal Sabway.
If you have to fight large groups of nasty stuff like Ice Imps, just flag the group 2 circles away and run in first. Even without any special protection, the two monks + N/Rt healer WILL be able to keep you alive as long as you want.
It's important though that the Imps are only targeting you and noone else - otherwise you'll quickly wipe.
Once you soaked enough aggro and the minions are engaging, you can take out any amount of Imps easily.

About my own skillbar... that totally depends and changes from area to area, so I can't give a specific advice for ALL maps.

Ok thanks for the builds, I've been pretty successful with them, trying things modified and actually vanquished almost all of Tyria now. Would these builds be viable to use in Cantha, Elona and EotN also.

I generally after some thought decided its best if I don't play my Mesmer as an Interupter also. Though I do have a gaming laptop and the game plays flawlessly on it or the desktop whichever I choose. I've not played an interupter of any sort probably in the past 1.5 years of me playing the game, so it'd take some time getting used to it again and that brings me to some of these builds not quite working for me in areas where Interuption can play a major part to the builds.

Someone said about his random silly builds in the other 8-man Mesmer thread that got posted after mine for different reasons so I didn't even bother trying that.

Anyone else can offer advice on what I posted above Antithesis post, thanks.

Builds look interesting, just finishing up a quest then I'll give them a shot. Need to unlock some of the skills but won't take any effort.

Thanks for the suggestions Pyro.

oO and Pyro about that second team - were does the REAL damage come from? sorry but I cant see enough damage to take down two grawl healers at the same time in EF or something?

two spears @ 14 mastery, Barbs, Ebon Battle Stand of Honor and Great Dwarf Armor. Resulting in +25..45 buffed spear attacks and the added knockdown effect which could easily hold down some healers.

I see the damage just fine, but where are your heals? All you have is a few prots and a potential heal w/ Divert, but nothing that will directly make red bars go up.

Agreed it isn't for 4-man areas. 6 and 8 areas are fine with it if you take some healer hench.

If you want 4 man areas, replace the necro with some monk hero or a N/Rt red bars up healer (second is probably best if you have got prot spirit/aegis and 2 hard targets)

Ok, sorry, I misunderstood your conversation then.
But yeah, that build could work for 4 man areas if you changed the necro to a healer (I still think WoH hybrid is the best thing ever in 4 man) and you could probley have the mesmer go echo CoP+ether nightmare, with a little curses support.

Edit: after talking about it with a friend, I think a good 4 man setup would be
[build name="4man CoP/curses" prof=Mesmer/Necro Fastcasting=12+1+1 curses=12][echo][cry of pain][ether nightmare][signet of corruption][barbs][rip enchantment][enfeebling blood][sunspear rebirth signet][/build]
[build name="Hybrid WoH" prof=monk/ divinefavor=8+1 healingprayers=12+1+1 protectionprayers=10+1][word of healing][signet of rejuvenation][guardian][shield of absorption][protective spirit][dismiss condition][cure hex][rebirth][/build]
and any two paragons that have minimal support. Racthoh has a few good ones in his thread. and Pyro's could work as well.

Anhow(!), I do not understand such a negative, provocative and sockpuppetry reaction from the OP, the build, apart from paragon, that I have posten is not inferior to what other people post or atleast cant be called "stupid" or "random" and publicly thrown away.

From the OP's side it is highly innapropriate as he came here to begging for help from clearly more expirienced players then him, and behaving in such way towards any of them negatively is counte-productiove to himself.

The OPs reaction is clearly is a sockpuppet from the Rustys reply, the OP took Rusty's negatively to me like a child, without even trying to understand what Rusty has really meant in his post, it cant be taken seriosly and was just a fontain of shit from PvX to guru.

Anyway paragon is replaced with an SS necro, something like sab's, either with AR/SW or SyG/NS, I will not bother to waste my time putting BBC coding for the build into my messege as OP is not worth my effort.

Super Igor, before you go leaving such a negative post yourself I'd suggest you learn what flaming actually is. I for one never said anything about your build, I simply said what someone else said in another post.

Therefore most of your crap above makes no sense at all. I'm not inexperienced, I simply asked on improving myself.

Another thing Antithesis (Not having a go at you) but his responce was worse than mine all I did was say something another said, which isn't unheard of in everyday language. Therefore I suggest you take the stick out of your arse and think before you reply.
